While at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jurey has successfully established the Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development in collaboration with the University of Texas at Arlington, the City of Arlington, and the Tarrant County Workforce Board. He was also appointed by Assistant Secretary Emily DeRocco, Employment and Training Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, to develop the Department's five-year strategic research plan.
Mr. Jurey was appointed president and CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce in October 2001, having previously served as president and CEO of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce since 1990. He earned his B.A. in education from Phillips University in Enid, OK in 1972.
